MANAGING A KNEE PAIN FLARE-UP E-BOOK

It doesn’t matter if you are young, middle age or older aged - knee pain affects us all at some point.

Flare-ups are a natural and normal part of life for people with a history of knee pain.

Occasional flare-ups should be expected, especially if you have a degenerative knee, osteoarthritis or previous history of meniscus tear or ligament injury.

For some people knee flare-ups happen occasionally and they are able to bounce back quickly without too much intervention.

For other people however, coping with flare ups can be very difficult

Frequent and uncontrolled flare-ups can lead to a chronic pain cycle that can lead to a significant reduction in quality of life.  These increases in pain are often associated with a reduction in activity, cutting yourself off from others, bed rest, disturbed sleep, more irritability and frustration and negative and unpleasant thoughts.

This PDF contains some tips from an experienced Physiotherapist with a special interest in knee pain, to help you recover faster and get back to doing what you love.

We will go through an explanation of why flare-ups happen and then set out 7 effective (and all natural) ways to deal with knee pain flare-ups, without relying on medications or surgery.

The more tools you can have in your toolbox to deal with flare-ups the better and once you practice these strategies and find that they work, you will gradually build more strength and confidence in your ability to stay active and enjoy your life to the fullest.

If one tool is not effective on a particular occasion, do not get discouraged, try another tool.

Remember that sometimes the best outcome comes when we use multiple strategies simultaneously.

You only need one good experience of using these pain-relieving tools to know that it is within the reach of your possibility to improve the condition of your knee.  A renewed faith in your ability to control and regulate the way your body responds to a flare-up can completely change the way you think and feel about your knee.
