RUNNING ANALYSIS ADELAIDE

We specialize in helping runners stay injury free and reach their personal best!

Whether your goal is a marathon, a half marathon or just beating your Parkrun mates on Saturday morning, we have you you covered!

We can make the mistake of assuming running comes naturally, without thinking too much about it.  Until our bodies break down and we are in pain; that gets our attention!

Running pain-free is a high level skill and a product of a solid physical foundation.

Running is an art and science; a balance of intuition and logic.  Listening to your body becomes a form of meditation and mindfulness.

Our running analysis begins with understanding of you as a person; your running history and your goals and expectations.

The running assessment uses slow motion video analysis to carefully evaluate your running form.  We use a checklist to identify the most common biomechanical errors.

Who we work with:

We don't work with just any runners, but if you have the following issues there is a high chance we can help you:

AdobeStock_59984823.jpeg
  • You're over 30 and getting nagging pains that's stopping you from reaching your running goals

  • You are getting knee pain while running

  • You find your lower back becoming painful after a run

  • You get very tight hamstrings and glutes during and after a run

  • You have had ongoing trouble with shin splints and nothing else has seemed to help

  • You have ongoing achilles tendon issues or pain in the heel of your foot

  • You are concerned running might be causing arthritis and wrecking your joints

  • You want to learn how to have longevity in your running career

How we help you:

1.  Perform a comprehensive, holistic Running Assessment and give you a proper diagnosis and identify relevant contributing factors (e.g training habits, muscle imbalances, recovery techniques).

2.  Improve awareness of your running style and body mechanics, leading to improved running technique and efficiency

3.  Educate and empower you to keep you running in the long-term, without injuries keeping you sidelined

What's involved

  • It starts with:

  • Listening: The best things start with an honest conversation, and that's what will happen. We sit down and get your story

  • Goal setting: we figure our where we want to go together

  • Gathering data: movement and video running analysis

  • Please note, to get the most accurate results, we perform the running assessment outside, not on a treadmill

What we assess:

  • alignment and posture

  • foot landing position

  • cadence

  • pelvic control

  • lower limb flexibility

  • training habits

  • shoe selection and wear patterns

  • recovery techniques and nutrition

  • muscle strength and testing for imbalances

Once we have figured out what is going on with your running, we will give you a written plan - full of advice, education and exercises to help you become an efficient, strong and injury-free runner.

We don't try and dramatically change your running technique, but instead focus on building your foundation and improve efficiency.

We also analyse your training loads and guide you towards a more sustainable approach to running.
